A safe space to explore what you truly want

Individual therapy for adults in Greek and English. In person in Rotterdam & online

Ψυχοθεραπεία

This might be for you if you're experiencing:

  • Loneliness, a sense of emptiness and futility
  • Constant stress and worry you can’t seem to quiet
  • Difficulties in your relationship – arguments, dead ends
  • Patterns that keep repeating without you wanting them to
  • A major change in your life – a new country, a new job
  • A recent breakup, divorce or job loss
  • Intense anger and outbursts
  • Phobias that hold you back in everyday life

How can therapy help you?

Therapy is a space that provides holding. A place where you can explore your relationship with yourself, with others and with the world around you.

Through the relationship of trust that develops with your therapist, you come to understand your thoughts, your feelings and your behaviours, as well as the patterns that keep repeating without you wanting them to.

In this way you find your own answers to what troubles you, address the symptoms that weigh on you, and create the conditions for a life with meaning and rhythm.

My approach

Relationships wound us, relationships heal us

A decisive factor in our mental health is our relationships with the important people around us. They can either help our lives flourish or lead to symptoms emerging. That is why we look, with attention and care, at your relationships with others, and at the therapeutic relationship that develops between us.

I am not a silent observer

I take an active part. I notice what comes up, whether in what you tell me or in what happens between us: thoughts, expressions, things you do without having realised it. I bring them into our conversation in a way, and at a moment, when you can make use of them.

We work together in an equal therapeutic relationship

You know your own life better than anyone else; I know the methodology of therapy. We work together towards the goals that you set, keeping in mind that the therapeutic relationship needs care and commitment from both sides in order to work.

A few words about me

My name is Panagiotis Georgakis and I am a therapist. I have over 3,500 hours of clinical experience with adults, in both individual and group sessions.

I trained in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling on the master’s programme at the University of Derby. I studied Counselling Psychology at the same university, and I have also trained in Coaching Psychology at the Athens Coaching Institute and as an adult educator at Panteion University.

My work is supervised, ensuring that my therapeutic practice remains safe and consistent with professional and ethical standards.

A few words about the process

Starting therapy

At the beginning we talk about the reasons you sought therapy and what you would like to change. We give the therapeutic relationship time to develop, while together choosing how we will work. Always at your own pace, and always with respect for your boundaries.

Progress is not linear

There will be sessions you leave feeling lighter, and sessions you leave with more questions than you came with. There may also be periods when you feel the process isn't helping you. These are part of how therapy unfolds; we welcome them and talk about them together.

Ending therapy

Like every relationship, the therapeutic relationship has a closing, and that moment carries its own therapeutic value. The ending is discussed and prepared for, and we say goodbye giving space to the feelings that come up.

Frequently asked questions

Our work takes place within the sessions. In between, contact is limited to practical matters: rescheduling, cancellations, logistics.

When something important comes up between our meetings, holding on to it and bringing it into the session is often more useful than having it answered hurriedly in a message.

If you are in crisis and need to talk to someone right away:

[Netherlands] Mental Health Support Line 0800-0113

There is no set duration, and it is not easy to predict one. It depends on what brings you here, how long it has been going on, and what you want to achieve.

What the research shows is that change comes gradually and takes time. At regular intervals we look at how the work is going, and whether and how you want to continue.

Your time is reserved exclusively for you each week. For this reason, cancellations require at least 24 hours’ notice.

Cancellations made with less notice, as well as sessions you do not attend, are charged in full.
